Twas' the night before Christmas!!

Just wanted to wish family and friends Happy and Peaceful Holidays!

ARE WE GOING TO HAVE A WHITE CHRISTMAS???? HERE IS THE SCOOP!

Since snowfall records were started in Little Rock in 1885...there have been relatively few times when snow was seen on Christmas Day.
There have been 14 years when some kind of snow was seen in Little Rock on Christmas Day. Snow has fallen on Christmas Day 9 times...with measurable snow occurring 4 times. Snow flurries occurred the other five times. In 5 other years...there was snow on the ground Christmas Day from earlier snowfalls. Only 4 times...in 1963...1983...1990 and 2004 was the ground covered with snow the entire day. Overall...there has been snow cover for at least part of Christmas Day 9 times.

Going just by the averages...snow on Christmas in Little Rock is seen about once every 8 years. Snow on the ground on Christmas occurs about once every 14 years...and measurable snowfall occurs about once per generation...or every 28 years. Only once has Little Rock seen snow for Christmas on consecutive years.

Introducing "KITTY CAT-GATO"

A VERY COOL CAT...Living out in the Oak Hickory Forest many cats come and go and we love them all. We lost two cats Micky-Mouser and Blackjack about 1 year ago, both had been with us for about 8 years and 5 years, both seasoned indoor/outdoor mountain kitties. Well, the new addition to our family is Kitty Cat-Gato, who Chandra says...."Followed me for 2 miles down the mountain to the house".. So, the first day, here he fell 30FT off the top of the roof trying to dive into a window that has a screen covering it... he survived and had made himself at home with Maka and Luna. Enjoy. Currently cold 25F.

Climbing Mommas!!!

While daddy slaved away working, Momma got the chance to hit the crag.
Suzanne, family and friends came up and climbed at Horseshoe canyon ranch. Liam had a great day on the crag. Chandra said he was drooling all day long from all of his 4 teeth coming in... I laughed and told her he was drooling because he could not wait to rope up!

Happy Halloween-Family and Friends Visit

Halloween came and went. Liam loved his pumpkin... no candy this year. We are having the perfect fall with lots of family and friends visiting. The Printiss Family from Florida, Grammy and Grammpy, Susan and Family from Colorado, Tony and Susan Morris... its been wonderful. Between bouts of crazy busy work, we have been able to sneak in some fun climbing and mt. biking. Its getting cold here at nights.. so time to go cut some firewood. Enjoy the random photos below.

Teething in the Fall

Well, fall is settling in with peak colors here in the oak woods coming quickly. We finally started both our wood burning stoves yesterday to keep the chill off and just to get in the practice. LIAM is TEETHING! Two teeth in lower bottom with the front top left coming in. He loves grinding the top and bottom as he moans and laughs at the same time.

"Hey!! Check it out... TEETH!"

"All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!"

Sister Julie

Sister Julie flew out to Colorado from where she lives in Oregon to see Liam. We had a great time visiting the place she grew up, going to Columbine High where she went to school, visiting the memorial at the school and meeting many of her childhood friends. Liam loved playing in her arms.

Colorado Fall Colors Trip

Well, we took a quick trip to Crested Butte Gunninson to see the fall colors peaking in the alpine and Nana who misses little Liam.
The fall colors were incredible and it was nice to be in the mountains hiking in the alpine this time of year with only the locals out hitting the trails. Liam had a great time visiting everyone, hiking and feeling the alpine air. We spent 4 days in the mountains and we cannot wait to return next fall with Mt. Bikes and a Nana-sitter!

Beautiful Crested Butte Peak!

We flew out to Colorado as Hurricane Ike moved into Arkansas. Here is a screen grab of the second hurricane of the season to move over AR
